I was under the incorrect impression that the League was a
nonpartisan organization that only encourages informed and active
participation of citizens in government. Well I was wrong. They
are very content to influence public policy, but not through
education nor a thoughtful discuss of the issues. They are happy to
advocate their view; yet they still want to be considered above the
fray.

public policy through education and advocacy."
